Port Loring Eco & Historical Tours

guided boat tours & nature hikes

At Port Loring Eco & Historical Tours, we strive to offer a service you won’t find elsewhere. Our historical boat tours travel the 45 kilometres (30 miles) of the Pickerel River waterway that connects the village of Port Loring to the small former logging community of Lost Channel. With stunning sights along the way, historical facts of the area, and how it developed from its logging and fishing industry, we take you back 100 years to where it all began.

As beautifully scenic as it is historical, you get to sit back, relax, and take in the spectacular sights as our tour boat captain leads you on your journey. With an audio and visual experience both on the tour boat and off, it’s a time for the whole family (or group) to see where it is that their roots began and how much beauty has been sustained over the years. We provide canoe, kayak, and paddle-board rentals and offer guided hikes (along with a boat ride to our starting point) to the great Old Growth White Pines in the middle of our aged protected forests. Ranging between 200 and 250 years old, these trees tower to 40 metres high (130 ft), 1.2 metres in diameter (4 ft), and are 3.76 metres (13 ft) in circumference! Come adventure with us!
